Expresses purpose of going or coming
Description
-(으)러 가다/오다 expresses going or coming somewhere to do something. It shows the purpose of movement.
Usage
Use with verbs of movement (가다, 오다, 다니다). Add -으러 after consonants, -러 after vowels.
Formation Rules
- 1Stem ending in consonant + 으러 가다/오다
- 2Stem ending in vowel + 러 가다/오다
Tips
- 💡Only used with movement verbs (가다, 오다, 다니다, 나가다, etc.)
- 💡The purpose must be achievable at the destination
- 💡Different from -(으)려고 which expresses general intention
