Description
-아서/어서 connects clauses to show reason ('because') or sequence ('and then'). Use -아서 after stems with ㅏ or ㅗ vowels, -어서 for others.
Usage
Used to explain why something happens or to describe actions in sequence. Cannot be used with commands or suggestions in the second clause.
Formation Rules
- 1Stems with ㅏ/ㅗ + 아서
- 2Other stems + 어서
- 3하다 → 해서
Tips
- 💡The subject must be the same in both clauses
- 💡Cannot use with imperative or propositive endings
- 💡Different from -니까 which can be used with commands
